This time capsule is located near the college's historical marker. It was placed there in 2009 during the college’s centennial celebration and is to be opened in 2109. The inscription on the stone reads:
Dixie College Centennial Time Capsule
Beneath this marker lies a time capsule installed November 18, 2009 to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the founding of Dixie College, the forerunner of Tennessee Technological University.
The Time Capsule is to be opened on November 18, 2109, the College Bicentennials.
The capsule contains items depicting campus life and culture in 2009 as well as documents commemorating the centennial celebration.
