Living in the rain and coffee soaked city of Seattle WA. In the late 80's Justin Shafer had a vision to open his own coffee house where he would serve the highest quality products with the most exceptional customer service that would be second to none!
Simultaneously longing to get back to where he once called home and again enjoy the warm sunshine of Arizona. For the next year and a half he studied the coffee industry of the Great Northwest. Then in 1991 made the move back to Phoenix.
Justin ran his coffee cart operations for two and a half years in Dushoff's book store, which subccumed to the new big corporate book stores. He then accepted a portion of their old space to build the indoor coffee house where Hava Java still resides today! It was 1995. The accolades were pouring in as fast as the coffee was pouring out. Winning awards left and right from local newspapers, magazines, and even a national magazine "The Washingtonian".
