Vergilio Ferreira (1916-1996) was a Portuguese writer who lived in several places of the country as he was a teacher and taught in different schools all around the nation.
In Évora he lived in this house for ten years, between 1949 and 1959. There is a plate there, a homage of the town commemorating the 40th anniversary of the first edition of his novel "Aparição". Placed in April 1999.
