Il s’agit d’une pierre de borne militaire britannique que les arpenteurs militaires plaçaient pour délimiter leurs propriétés. Il y en a au moins une dizaine dans le Vieux-Québec et autant à Lévis. Le «BO» signifie «Board of Ordnance» (Conseil de l'Ordre) et la petite flèche était leur signe. On retrouvait cette flèche sur tout ce qui appartenait à l’armée britannique, dont les canons.

It is a British military monument stone that military surveyors used to delimit their properties. There are at least about 10 in Old Quebec and as much in Lévis. The "BO" means "Board of Ordnance" and the little arrow was their sign. We found this arrow on everything that belonged to the British army, including cannons.
