The Roman Agora of Athens, a.k.a. Roman Forum, a rectangular area about 450' long by 110' wide. It is located to the north of the Acropolis and to the east of the Ancient Agora.

In 51 BC Julius Caesar founded the Roman Forum and moved Athens' marketplace here from the old Agora. The agora consists of an number of excavated structures and ruins that is currently below surrounding the street level.
The most complete building is the Tower of the Winds, on the east side of the Forum. It is an octagonal, marble tower that was the world's first meteorological station. The 12 meter high by 8 meter diameter tower was built around 50 BC by Andronicus of Cyrrhus. When built it contained sundials, a water clock, and a wind vane.
The main entrance was on the west to the forum is marked by the Gate of Athena Archegetis. It is considered to be the second most prominent remain in the site after the Tower of the Winds. Between these two features were the public latrines and a series of freestanding columns. There is a second entrance the East Propylon on the east, leading up to a public latrine and the "Tower of the Winds."
