Standing in front of her blue dresser and gold coloured handles, this lady is wearing a pair of blue pants and an adjusted off the shoulder top which flares at the bottom, as well as purple shoes with ankle straps. A mink stole is wrapped around her right arm while on her left, over her evening glove, is a platinum bracelet. Her fancy hat is adorned with a diamond broach. To her left is a purple chair with a padded back rest. Two blue birds are seen fluttering their wings next to her.
Drew Mandigo created the first seventeen Downtown Rideau Mural Boxes installed in late 2016, from his Auntie Mame Series. Stunning in their originality, Drew’s works feature digital collages of ladies dressed in 1950’s and 60’s fashions, and are inspired by the spirit of the 1958 film of the same name. Several new pieces were released as part of the 2017 mural box expansion project, including one featuring a lady trapped in a glass dome, surrounded by butterflies, and a unique piece dubbed ‘the upside-down lady’.
