The bronze relief is set in a stone plate that crowns the cross motif. The figures are markedly elongated and dressed in robes, eyes are traditionally closed. The man plays the violin and the woman surprisingly plugs his ears. Perhaps it would symbolize the overwhelming fact that music flowing from the master's instrument could no longer be heard. Under the feet of the couple we find an inscription saying, "A song about the eternal home."
