Identified as a "Glacial Erratic," this granite rock was excavated on this property in 1998.
Probably of Canadian origin, it was deposited locally during the Pleistocene Geologic Epoch which began about one million years ago.
About 10,000 years ago, as the last great glacier receded, "The Chase Rock" was left here along with other covering Alluvial deposits.
Now uncovered, it continues the cycle of eons that will ultimately reduce it to a grain of sand.
