Regattastrecke Beetzsee (German for Regatta or Boat Race Track) is a world renowned sports venue for all kind of races on water. It has hosted a number of World and European championships in rowing, canoe sprint and motor boat racing.
The track is located at the western shores of Lake Beetzsee. It was built in 1969 and was at the time one of the most modern boat race tracks in Europe.
One of the main events for every year is the Grosse Internationale Brandenburger Kanu-Regatta (Great International Brandenburg Canoe Race). In addition, over the years, the venue hosted the following international championships:
- 1972: European Rowing Championship
- 1985: World Rowing Junior Championships
- 1992: World Cup Race, Motor Boats Formula 3
- 1995: World Cup Race, Motor Boats Formula 1
- 2005: World Rowing Junior Championships
- 2007: World Cup Race, Motor Boats Formula 500
- 2007: European Cup Race, Motor Boats Formula 350
- 2009: European Championships Canoe Sprint
- 2014: European Championships Canoe Sprint
- 2016: European Rowing Championships
In 2019, Beetzsee won the bid for the 2024 World Rowing Maters Regatta
In addition to the professional races there are a lot of other events, ranging from long-distance swimming, triathlon and model-boat races to bare-feet water-skying and zodiac slalom.
