FR Construite dans les années 1930 à l'emplacement des pavillons du génie, la gare routière est située à l'endroit où se trouvait la scène de l'ancien théâtre romain. Les gradins s'élevaient tout autour de la place, et leurs derniers vestiges se voyaient encore au siècle dernier. Le théâtre, en hémicycle, pouvait accueillir environ 3500 spectateurs. La scène et le frontispice étaient dans l'alignement de la rue Fourmilière. C'est d'ailleurs dans un mur de cette rue que fut découverte l'émouvante stèle de l'Enfant Septentrion.
Sur le fronton de la gare, l'horloge a été réalisée par le sculpteur et peintre Gianangelli, auteur également du décor de « Jazz à Juan ».
L'horloge est un très grand rond de 2 mètres de diamètre, symbolisant le soleil avec ses rayons. Du centre partent deux aiguilles blanches vers les carrés des heures. Le fond est fait d'éléments divers.
EN Built in the 1930s on the site of the engineering pavilions, the bus station is located on the site of the former Roman theatre stage. The terraces rose all around the square, and their last remains were still visible in the last century. The theatre, in a hemicycle, could accommodate about 3500 spectators. The scene and frontispiece were in the alignment of rue Fourmilière. It is in a wall of this street that the moving stele of the Northern Child was discovered.
On the pediment of the station, the clock was made by the sculptor and painter Gianangelli, who also designed the "Jazz à Juan" decor.
The clock is a very large circle 2 meters in diameter, symbolizing the sun with its rays. From the centre, two white hands leave towards the hour squares. The background is made of various elements.
