Just to the right of the main entrance to the Caille Branch Library is a lifesize sculpture of a boy with his dog. The boy has numerous distractions, hence the title "Summer Distractions".
This is such a cute sculpture! The boy is holding an ice cream cone in his left hand, and reading a book that is held by his right hand. A puppy is standing on its back legs, front paws on the boy's left leg, trying to get his attention. In the boy's back left pocket is a slingshot, and a baseball mitt is slung over the belt at his front right side. The sculpture is installed on top of a concrete slab.
