The Little Free Library of this posting is found between the basketball courts at the neighborhood park named Blossom Park. This park is next to Bradley Middle School in the Shady Oaks neighborhood of northern San Antonio, but south of Loop 1604.
This community book exchange seems to be in a popular place. The box is of ample size and well constructed. It is painted dark blue and has two large white stars on its side panels. The roof of the little library is bright red. Inside the library box is a single shelf, allowing for two rows of books, one on the bottom of the box, the other on the shelf. The box is tall enough to have larger than the normal 9x6 novel, but might not be able to have an oversized coffee table book stood up on the shelf. There were an assortment of book topics, mainly novels, on the lower shelf. Children's books were found on the top shelves for young readers or for those still young enough to be read to.
The concept of the Little Free Library is for people within a community to stop by the unit and examine the selection of books at that time. If you see a book you'd like to read, feel free to take it out and take it with you. If you have books at home that you have already read, you are encouraged to take these books to a Little Free Library and donate them into any little library's book selection. This concept is summarized as: Take A Book: Return a Book. Feel free to take a book you want to read, and feel free to return a book/add a book to this exchange unit or any others you know of. Your contribution of books keeps the sections varied and keeps the little libraries filled with book for others. Its is a win-win situation.
