This church was built by the sea, serving the community of Santana, a village in the suburbs of the capital, Sao Tome.

There is a plate in the front facade saying the church was built in 1940 by the command of the governor Vaz Monteiro.

It's a picturesque location of easy access, directly by the National Road 2. The church is surrounded by schools and the kids bring a special joy to the church grounds.
