Long Description:
Een door defensie overgedragen Leopard 1A5 tank, van Duitse makelij, uit 1969 aan de gemeente Kapellen en aan het Kempens Landschap. Deze indrukwekkende machine van maar liefst 40 ton zwaar, en is de blikvanger aan het onthaal van de spoorfietsen op de Fortsteenweg.
De tank is niet gebruikt in enige oorlogs- of gevechtssituatie.
Met de spoorfietsen kan je over de oude militaire spoorlijn van Kapellen naar Brasschaat rijden en omgekeerd.

De tank is op 21 juni 2016 officieel overgedragen van Defensie aan Kapellen en het Kempens Landschap. De tank werd onklaar gemaakt in Zuttendaal.
