Gut Leidenhausen ist eine städtische Freizeitanlage im Südosten Kölns. Sie liegt im Stadtteil Porz-Eil am Rand von Königsforst und Wahner Heide. Insbesondere für Kinder werden hier vielfältige Attraktionen angeboten, bei denen die Besucher die Natur erleben und erlernen sollen.

Eine der Hauptattraktionen ist die Greifvogel-Schutzstation. Sie wurde in den 1960er Jahren gegründet und seit 1994 von der Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald e.V. betrieben. Die Auffangstation nimmt kranke, verletzte oder elternlose Greifvögel und Eulen auf, pflegt diese gesund und entlässt sie dann in der Regel wieder in die freie Natur. Jährlich werden etwa 100 neue Tiere abgegeben, im Durchschnitt sind etwa 60 Tiere in der Schutzstation gleichzeitig beherbergt.

Die Vögel, die für Publikumsverkehr gesund genug sind, können zu den Öffnungszeiten sonntags und an Feiertagen besucht werden. So sind hier ständig Uhus, Eulen, Mäusebussarde, Falken, Kauze und andere Greifvögel zu beobachten. Der Eintritt ist kostenlos.

April - Oktober: 10:00 - 18:00 (sonn- und feiertags)
November - März: 12:00 - 16:00 (sonn- und feiertags)
Zusatzlich wird jeden dritten Samstag im Monat eine kostenlose öffentliche Führung um 15:00 angeboten. Weitere Gruppenführungen zu anderen Terminen können für 30 Euro vereinbart werden.

Gut Leidenhausen is a municipal leisure facility in the southeast of Cologne. It is located in the district Porz-Eil on the edge of Königsforst and Wahner Heide. Especially for children, a variety of attractions are offered, where visitors can experience and learn about nature.

One of the main attractions is the bird of prey rescue station (German: "Greifvogel-Schutzstation"). It was founded in the 1960s and operated since 1994 by the non-profit organization Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald e.V.. The rescue center picks up ill, injured or parentless birds of prey and owls, takes care of their recovery and then releases them back into the wild. Every year about 100 new animals are brought to the station, on average about 60 animals are housed at the same time.

The birds, which are healthy enough for public traffic, can be visited on opening hours on Sundays and public holidays. Admission is free of charge.

In addition, a free public tour is offered every third Saturday of the month at 15:00. Further group tours on other dates can be arranged for 30 Euros.
