Muskegon County Memorial Park is located in Muskegon, Michigan and is now called Veterans Memorial Park. Veterans Memorial Park is a lowland park containing a lagoon and island with several war memorials. A large fountain anchors the south end of the park with a Vietnam Memorial proudly occupies the north end. The park is easily viewed while traveling north and south along the Causeway. The Veteran’s organization graciously constructed a concrete walkway throughout the park, along which lay bronze plaques, purchased by individuals to commemorate loved ones who have served in the armed forces. This property is owned by the county and maintained by the City of Muskegon.
This particular memorial is a granite slab with a plaque that tells when it was developed(1933-1934) and why(As a living memorial to World War dead). The memorial was dedicated in 2000 in memory and honor of all who have served. There also is a fountain that sprays during the warmer months, as of this posting it was shut off.
