With the South westerly swell the surf within this area can often exceed 10 feet (3 meters). As a consequence a popular spot for surfing. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards.

Today, November, the imminent swell and the full moon due very soon, has as expected created a very messy surf, wave sets.
It is interesting to note that the sea temperatures are more than the ambient air temperatures.
With wave height frequently above 2m it come as no surprise this area, the nearby bay are ideal for surfers.
