This lighthouse, known as Pomorac lighthouse (in Croatian: Svjetionik Pomorac) is an active lighthouse located in the seafront municipal park in Split, Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia. It's is operated by the State company Plovput. It's a lighthouse-monument.
The former Yugoslav government built it as a memorial to the country's sailors in 1958. It had a very powerful light. It was bombed during the wars of Yugoslavia during the break-up of Yugoslavia in 1991 and remained inactive until 2013. Local volunteer groups helped repair it between 2003 and 2006 and a more complete restoration was carried out in 2012 to 2013 for its return to service.
The lighthouse is a 38 meters high obelisk. It emits, at a focal height of 54 meters, two white flashes every 20 seconds. Its range is 10 nautical miles (about 19 km).
