[DE] Das Mahnmal für die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus befindet sich in der nordwestlichen Ecke der Paulskirche. Es zeigt eine Figur aus Muschelkalk, die ihre gefesselten Hände verzweifelt zum Himmel hebt. Auf dem Sockel aus Sadnstein sind die Namen von Orten zu lesen, an denen die jüdische Bevölkerung unter dem Terror des Nationalsozialmus leiden mußten. Die Liste entstand unter Mitwirkung der jüdischen Gemeinde in Frankfurt. Aufgeführt sind in alphabetischer Reihenfolge von Auschwitz bis Westerbork 53 Namen der wichtigsten Konzentrations-, Arbeitserziehungs- und Internierungslager sowie von Ghettos.

Geschaffen hat das Mahnmal der Bildhauer Hans Wimmerm, der die Jury der Stadt am 21. Juni 1960 von seinem Entwurf überzeugen konnte. Der Frankfurter Oberbürgermeister Willi Brundert enthüllte das Mahnmal am 24. Oktober 1964.

[ENG] The memorial to the victims of National Socialism is located in the northwestern corner of St. Paul's Church. It shows a figure made of shell limestone, which raises its bound hands desperately to the sky. On the pedestal from Sadnstein are the names of places, in which the Jewish population had to suffer under the terror of National Socialism. The list was written with the participation of the Jewish community in Frankfurt. In alphabetical order from Auschwitz to Westerbork are listed 53 names of the most important concentration, labor education and internment camps as well as ghettos.

The memorial was created by the sculptor Hans Wimmerm, who was able to convince the jury of the city on 21 June 1960 of his design. The Mayor of Frankfurt, Willi Brundert, unveiled the Mahnmal on October 24, 1964.
