Some headstones just beg for more information.

The headstone itself is cast concrete with an open bible on top. What makes this "handmade" is the use of pressed type lettering and the "semi-professional" appearance.

Who was James W. Lebert and why did the Citizens of High Island erect his headstone?

Date of Birth: January 17, 1849

Date of Death: September 27, 1926
