"LANCASTER, Mo. — Officials in Schuyler County have made a major change that will save the county thousands of dollars.
"Schuyler County Clerk Bree Shaw told KTVO the courthouse in Lancaster, Missouri, now has a new phone system and new service provider.
"Shaw said the county used AT&T for years, but its rates just kept skyrocketing so county officials looked into some other options and decided to switch to VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol).
"She said the move will save the county approximately $15,000 a year.
"Shaw told us the county has had several people complaining that they do not know the new phone numbers.
"If you dial the old number and listen to the whole message, Shaw said it tells callers what the new number is.
