This church was originally founded by Germans from Russia, who found their freedoms being eroded. They came to America, and twelve families eventually came to this area of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Reservation when it was opened to settlement. This congregation was established in 1893. An earlier church building existed from 1906 to 1941. The church was stands today was built in 1942.
This is a large, one-story tan brick building with high ceilings, a gabled roof, and a partially exposed basement level. The beautiful decorative stained glass windows have pointed arches, and the sanctuary is equipped with a pipe organ. The main entrance on the west has a nine-step staircase leading to double doors. At the northwest corner a large brick bell tower is constructed. A separate educational building lies to the southeast, as well as a parsonage. Services are held at 11:00 on Sunday, with Sunday School at 10:00. A granite monument on the grounds tells the story of the church's history.
