Sloup je upomínkou na události roku 1714. Toho roku byl uzavren Rastattský mír s Francouzi po válkách o španelské dedictví. Zároven ve Vysokém Mýte zabíjela morová nákaza, a tak byl sloup postaven také jako projev díku Panne Marii za pominutí moru. Sousoší je pískovcové, uprostred na vrcholu 14 m vysokého sloupu stojí socha Neposkvrnené Panny Marie, v rozích pak sochy sv. Floriána, sv. Josefa, sv. Jana Nepomuckého a sv. Vavrince.
