Memorial on the waterfront in Rhodes Town close to the entrance of Mandraki Harbour, which commemorates those who were "Killed for the Liberation of the Islands of the North and South Aegean during the years 1943-1945".
It is topped with a bronze figure representing Victory and is similar in style to many war memorials found in the UK. Greek, British and French forces, as well the inhabitants of the islands are honoured.
There are several inscribed plaques in different languages on the base of the memorial. The English plaque reads -
ETERNAL GLORY SHALL CROWN
THOSE KILLED FOR THE LIBERATION
OF THE ISLANDS OF NORTH AND SOUTH AGEAN
DURING THE YEARS 1943 - 1945
THE FIGHTERS OF
THE GREEK SACRED REGIMENT
THE BRITISH WAR NAVY AND AIRFORCE
THE FRENCH WAR NAVY
AND THE INHABITANTS
OF THE DODECANESE ISLANDS
