At curb level, this dark metal marker indicates an elevation of 3420 feet. The Salt River Canyon bridge was constructed in 1934. It has been supersceded by a new vehicle bridge but remains as a pedestrian bridge. The marker dates to 1947, thus a more recent addition. Stamped on the marker is

The marker is located approximately 79 feet from the southwesten edge of the visitor restrooms on an angle of 284 degrees. It is on the lower curb just at the beginning of the bridge decking.
