The toll-gate and its building is one of the sightseeings in Leutesdorf. Although the building has been build in 1638, when the Thirty-Years-War endet, the gate shows the year 1572. It is not clear where this date comes from. The building is placed at the former road at the river Rhine where the road from Neuwied to Linz has been build. Beeing a gate is protects the town on the west-side in direction to Neuwied. The gate is placed in an ensemble of other buildings from the 17th and 18th and the former Rhine-Road is a nice place for a side-walk.
