Milford was established as a shipping point for ore from the silver mines to the west and as a farming community. Other buildings along Main Street, the Milford hotel and the Atkin hotel, were constructed just after the beginning of the twentieth century. This building, constructed of fired brick, is dated 1922 so it was erected after the first building boom of the town. It is a two story building with an arched front. On the top of the front of the building is IOOF and the date 1922. A note on the entrance to the second floor indicates that Lodge #42 meets Mondays at 8:00 PM. The building is in good shape. On the left side of it is a column covered with stamped material designed to look like carved stone. It appears to be the remains of a building since removed.
