Constructed in 1907 after the county seat moved from Williamsburg, this building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
Covington County was formed by an act of the State Legislature on January 5, 1819, and signed into law by Governor David Holmes on February 5, 1819, as the fifteenth county of the state.
