Dancers is a sculpture created by the
Stingers Team of Grimshaw, AB during the 2004 Great Canadian Welders' Competition. This is a somewhat abstracted concept of a couple dancing in the street. The main part of the sculpture is welded steel with steel mesh for parts of the body and link chain for the hair.
Though at one time Fort St. John held the Great Canadian Welders' Competition as an annual event, it may or may not have continued to the present. The
Fort St. John website does mention the competition as continuing, though. In the competition, held each August in Fort. St. John's Centennial Park, top welders are given 29 hours to create their sculptural masterpieces.
