D'une superficie d'environ 36 000 mètres carrés (120 000 pieds carrés), cet immense parc est situé sur la rive est de la rivière Saint-François, à 2 km (1.25 mile) du centre-ville de Sherbrooke, Québec.
En 1890, la ville de Sherbrooke achète, au coût de 150 $ l’acre, les 60 acres du vaste boisé de la ferme Terrill pour y aménager son plus vaste parc. À partir de 1947, ce parc comporte également un zoo, avec la présence de 110 espèces d’animaux sauvages. Le jardin zoologique est fermé en mai 1979.
Le parc a été nommé en honneur de la reine Victoria. Née à Londres, Victoria est la fille d'Edward, duc de Kent, et de Louise Victoria, princesse de Saxe-Cobourg. Couronnée à l'âge de 18 ans, elle régnera pendant 64 ans, période au cours de laquelle son royaume deviendra une première puissance mondiale.
Ce toponyme est officialisé par la Commission de toponymie du Québec, le 5 juin 2001.

In 1890, the city of Sherbrooke bought the 60 acres of the vast woodland of Terrill Farm for $ 150 an acre to build its largest park. From 1947, this park also includes a zoo, with the presence of 110 species of wild animals. The zoological garden was closed in May 1979.
The park was named in honor of Queen Victoria. Born in London, Victoria is the daughter of Edward, Duke of Kent, and Louise Victoria, Princess of Saxe-Coburg. Crowned at the age of 18, she will reign for 64 years, during which time her kingdom will become a first world power.
This toponym was officialized by the Commission de toponymie du Québec on June 5, 2001.
