Westhill is a burgeoning commuter town, built to the west of Aberdeen in Scotland. Its golf course has been laid out on top of a hill on the north side of the town and is maturing into a wooded parkland course.
The clubhouse and opening holes occupy the highest point of the hill, with the remainder curving around the south facing slope. Despite the nature of the land, there is little hillwalking, with the majority of the holes running along the slope rather than up and down.
The course is 5,482 yards and a par of 69 off the visitor's yellow tees, with two par fives on each nine and five short holes, the best being the very short 6th on the lowest point of the course with a small pond to be carried.
The refurbished clubhouse sits high above the course and its windows command a view over Aberdeenshire to the south and west.
