The small village of Fettercairn is situated on the southern edge of the Grampian Mountains of Scotland in the old county of Kincardineshire (now the southern part of Aberdeenshire). On the western edge of the village, a distillery was established in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay, the owner of the Fasque Estate, which owned the land.
The distillery has expanded since and specialises in single malt Scotch Whisky, distilled from the waters of the mountains to the north.
The distillery conducts tours from Tuesday to Saturday, beginning at Easter through to October. Tours start at 10.00am until 4.30pm (last tour at 4.00pm). Cost is £7.50, and the tour lasts 45 minutes.
