The Jacobspad is the Dutch equivalent of the Way of St. James. Everything that has to do with the Jacobspad is called Jacobalia. These can be signposts, Jacob's churches and chapels, but also, for example, cheap overnight places for pilgrims on their trip to Santiago de Compostela. Here in Vlissingen on the east side of the Jacobskerk, located on Sint Jacobsstraat at the junction with Lepelstraat you can find the famous tile with the St. Jacobs shell. Sometimes it is in bronze, here it is in cast iron.
