The village of Cernvír is counted as one of the oldest settlements on the eastern slope of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The village lies in the valley of the river Svratka at an altitude of 316 m, 15 km southeast of Bystrice nad Pernštejnem. One of the dominant of the village is the covered beam bridge over the Svratka River, which dates back from 1718. It is 32 m long and 2.6 m wide. It is the oldest building of its kind in Moravia and is a technical monument.

The wooden bridge is depicted on the stamp issued by Czech Post on May 26, 1999. The stamp of dimensions 40 x 26 mm was designed by Emanuel Ranný and engraved by Václav Fajt.
