The large square concrete pad (with a concreted strip running to it from the gated entry) is surrounded with a 1 metre high cyclone mesh fence, separating it from the uphill oval. A large 'H' is enclosed in a white-painted circle for the Landing Pad. There are multiple concrete enclosed lights at ground level around the site.
A sign at the entrance announces that the 'Ipswich Helipad' is a Community Benefit Project funded and constructed by the Rotary Club of Ipswich, March 1995. The Windsock is on the lower side of the enclosure, outside of the fencing.
