The base is in good condition but the top metal part has had a bucket stuck on top with mirrors on all sides. There was a phone number so we rang it and spoke with the guy who added this peculiar little extra. Apparently when the mirrors were all intact ( not many left now ) the light reflecting off them could be seen at the bottom from far and wide. He was delighted to recieve our call and said he had been waiting for ten years for someone to call !

Ideally, you should try to take photos at the actual beacon location, but if that isn't possible (private property, terrain, etc), then photos taken from a distance are also welcome, especially if the beacon is visible in the photo.
