This relief sculpture is part of the Ursuline Monastery of Quebec. In 1902 the chapel of the Monastery was rebuilt by the architect David Ouellet. The latter adopted a form that originally reproduced the initial volume of the old chapel, although it is higher. Outside, the old decor has been carefully restored in a very sober architecture; it does not feel like a 1902 building. The building looks like a shrine, a reliquary, like European chapels, instead of a small church, as it was the trend in Quebec since the beginning of the 19th century. Inside, there are a large number of paintings, mostly copies of French works that arrived here with the Desjardins collection.
