NRHP Nomination Form"Extending across the Trinity River and connecting the Dallas Central Business District with the early suburb of Oak Cliff, the Houston Street Viaduct is one of the longest viaducts with reinforced-concrete arches ever built. The viaduct has had few alterations, and is noteworthy for the special "shoes" to accommodate oceangoing vessels which, almost 75 years after the bridge was built, have yet to materialize."
