To get to the Konza Prairie Nature Trail and hiking trail without using GPS coordinates, follow these driving instructions for a way to get there:
from south Manhattan, KS take Hwy 18 (Polsbury Rd) eastward. Turn south onto FM901 (McDowell Creek Rd) to Konza Prairie Lane. Turn onto Konza Prairie Lane and drive about 0.5 mile. You will see signs for the location and a long, linear parking area before arriving at a covered booth where pamphlets are found that give three options of where to hike on the trails and give numbered descriptions of what to look for at the numbered posts beside the trail. There is one overlook that can be gotten to from any of the trails and it is worth the hike to see the surrounding view of the prairie, especially in the Spring when there are blooms.
The trail can be taken in three parts, depending on how far you want to hike.
Nature Trail is 2.6 mi.; Kings Creek Trail is 4.6 mi.; and Godwin Hill Loop is 6.2 mi.
As is most of Kansas, the trails are windy, so take appropriate clothing for the wind and weather.

NO DOGS ALLOWED AT ALL.
NO PETS ALLOWED.
This is a research area and domestic pets, especially dogs, damage the area and ruin the natural areas under study. There is a huge red sign at the parking area at the entrance to the hiking path that lists the restrictions and why pets are not allowed.
