This recently completed pavilion features the three most basic essentials for an afternoon at the park. Water, Bathroom, and Shade. A fourth essential service is also available - free WiFi service through out the park. The structure is made of steel and flagstone. There are 40-ish plasti-dipped picnic tables so there is room for a crowd. The pavilion is available for rent through the city parks and recreation office.

Deer Park Building Two Pavilions In Dow Park
By Bryan Kirk, Patch Staff Dec 5, 2016

Pavilions will host parties, outdoor movie screenings and live music events.

DEER PARK, TX -- The City of Deer Park is already getting a head start on spring with the construction of two pavilions inside the city's largest community park.

The pavilions, which are planned for Dow Park, will be used to host community activities and events, such as outdoor movie screenings during the summer months and live musical performances.

According to a Houston Chronicle report, the pavilions will be separated by open space, with a larger one on the west side and a smaller pavilion on the east side of the park.

However, to make room for the smaller pavilion, the city plans to tear down an existing pavilion.

In May 2015, city voters approved a half-cent sales tax to fund parks and recreation projects, as well as other city projects.

Dow Park, one of 21 parks in the city, is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Dow Park is a 40 acre park that includes a community pool, a rose garden, splash park, playground structures, tennis and volleyball courts, pet stations, sports fields, a skate park and a walking trail.
