Valemount is in the Robson Valley in beautiful British Columbia. It has approximately 1,720 residents in this small community. Valemount is called the "Valley of the Mountains".
Valemountain Days is an annual event for the last 38 years held on the 2nd weekend in June. It features a parade, and other weekend long activities for families, locals and visitors to the area.
Mount Robson is in Valemount's backyard and it is the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies. If you continue north to Tête Jaune Cache, then head east on Hwy. 16, Mount Robson is about 38 km from Valemount. Continuing east you will be in Jasper National Park.
From mountain tops to the valley below, Valmount is an ideal destination for the outdoor enthusiasts. If you are a snow boarder, skier, hiker or just love the outdoors Valemount is the gateway to the Rocky Mountains. Near Valemount is the John Hick's Regional Park that offers a viewing platform for local and visitors alike to watch the Chinook Salmon come from the Pacific Ocean, up the Fraser River and then enter Swift Creek to spawn in late July to mid August.
