The Northern Daily, local newspaper of 2013 announced the opening of this concrete Skatepark. It mentioned that a local coal-mine chipped in some $70k to enhance the park, with this addition. Skatepark, article, 7 June, 2013 - retrieved 8/8/2019.

The side of the Skatepark towards the main road has a three-foot high fence, while on the other side of the pedestrian/cycle path that runs north/south is fenced for the railway line. The Skatepark is 'book-ended' by a pair of ramps, with a middle hump and rail.
