On the outskirts of Gainesville located at Tower Road and SW 41st Place is the Alachua County Veteran's Memorial Park. With in this park are a number of Veteran Memorials.
It is also home to Kanapaha Park which offers something for everyone. Basketball courts, volleyball courts, baseball fields, soccer fields, 2 playgrounds, exercise trail, a roller hockey rink, and nature trails.
Two large (10-12 picnic tables) pavilions and one extra-large (16-20 picnic tables) pavilion are available for use by park patrons on a first come, first served basis.
The Freedom Community Center is available for rental, and can be configured with round and/or rectangular tables. It has capacity for 120 guests seated conference style. The rental includes small kitchen facilities (refrigerator and sink). Weekday rentals are $150/day and weekend rental rates are $300/day. A $200 refundable security deposit is required to secure any rental. Contact 352-264-6868 or 352-264-6907 to check availability for your date and to request a facilities use agreement.
The park also has a concession area available for rent that includes a refrigerator and sink and counter space. This area can be rented only in conjunction with the Freedom Community Center for $33/day weekdays and $66/day weekends. A $200 security deposit is requried to secure the rental.
