"Memoriam eorum retinebimus"
"We Will Remember Them"
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 242 in Barriere received their Charter on February 3, 1953 and signed up 43 members. In 2018, they celebrated the 65th anniversary.
In June, Diamond Forever a Celebration of Neil Diamond was hosted by the Barriere Legion and afterwards a steak dinner was served. They also have dances, family events, meat draw, bingo, poker night and many other events.
Members offer support and assistance to local veterans and their families with programs offered through the national organization.
The branch is involved with the Remembrance Day event and the Poppy promotion. They also provide services for fallen comrades at funerals and other local and regional events.
