Sgt. Edward Alexander McCord. Ardagh Cemetery County Longford. Grave B.16. Born on the 15th November 1915 at Loughill, the son of John and Frances Maria McCord, of Ardagh, Republic of Ireland. He had emigrated to New Zealand just 4 years previously. His grave inscription reads: "Greater Love Hath No Man Than This, That A Man Lay Down His Life For His Friends"."
