"Retired Farmer, 91, Was Member of Prominent Family in County:
HARRIMAN, Tenn. - William Hamilton Browder, 91, a retired farmer and a member of one of Roane County's most widely known families, died at a hospital Monday after a long illness.
"In the Wheat community, Mr. Browder formerly operated a 1,200 acre farm which now is the site of the gaseous diffusion plant in the Oak Ridge atomic operations.
"A bridge across the Emory River was named for Mr. Browder when it was dedicated in 1958.
"The oldest graduate of Roane College, which was in the Wheat community, Mr. Browder was also the oldest living member of the East Fork Masonic Lodge in the Dyllis community. He had been a member 63 years.
"Mr. Browder formerly was employed at the state toll bridge in Kingston, Tenn. His last work was for Harriman Oil Co., which two of his sons now operate." ~ The Chattaqnooga Times, printed in Find-A-Grave
