This interesting monument is made up of a short tree trunk, with the family name,"Payne", in relief, and atop it is a planter that could use some flowers. The Woodmen of the World emblem is worn by time and the elements, but a good part of it is still legible, and below it is this inscription:
Randolph F.
Payne
1872 -- 1907.
Here rests a Woodmen
of the World
----
While it's not a Woodmen of the World monument, in the same plot is an impressive tree trunk marker for Lottie Clark -- apparently not related to the Payne family -- with a complementary log-themed footstone. Presumably, she died as a result of childbirth, and her daughter only outlived her by about a year. The child, Gladyss Clark, has her own short tree trunk monument. This is a good place to see a variety of tree trunk markers in close proximity to each other.
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
