Salmon Run is a dramatic scene of the Sockeye Salmon making their way to their spawning ground. It is interesting to note that salmon return to the exact location where their eggs were hatched.
Sockeye Salmon are usually 3 to 5 years of age when ready to spawn. They turn a vivid red and the rivers churn with activity. The spawning season is in early fall and thousand of visitors come to the viewing areas to watch this amazing scene. We have often witnessed this scene at Adams River about 300 km SE from Williams Lake near Chase.
This large utility box shows the vivid red Sockeye Salmon making their way most likely up Horse Fly River or the Quesnel River both NE of Williams Lake. Anne Burrill scene captures the moment. The utility box has similar scenes on all sides. There is a section that protrudes out one side of the utility box.
