The Museum für Thüringer Volkskunde Erfurt is one of the largest folklore museums in Germany. It is housed in buildings of the former Great Hospital at Juri-Gagarin-Ring in Erfurt.

The permanent exhibition in the main building shows on several floors above all objects of the rural everyday culture of the 19th century, workshop equipment for the representation of the rural working life (basket makers, glassblowers, toy makers, blue dyers, mask makers) as well as Thuringian costumes and painted furniture. There are also special exhibitions on other everyday and cultural-historical topics.
