July 16th 2019

At 22:16:17 CDT the ISS reached an altitude of 83° and a magnitude of -3.9 over Edmond, Oklahoma.

At 23:21:22 EDST it reached an altitude of 71° and a magnitude of -3.6 over Ottawa. The ISS took five minutes and five seconds, covering 1504 miles to get to Ottawa.

The forecast in Ottawa was mostly cloudy. When I arrived at my viewing site I could clearly see the Moon, Saturn and Jupiter. Then the clouds rushed in from the north. Near maximum altitude, I watched the ISS for more than forty seconds. At that magnitude, the ISS was visible through the cloud cover. I then saw the ISS again for a few seconds as it fell to 10° of the horizon. For the duration of the pass, I supplied blood to the mosquitoes.

Keen observers may notice in the photographs that the date function on my GPSr is broken.

Thank you to Max and 99.
